From 6 to 9 June, the 2023 edition of the EUCNC & 6G Summit will take place in Gothenburg (Sweden). The 5G-LOGINNOV case study will be mentioned on Thursday 8 June, from 16:00 – 17:00 during the session 4 “Enabling Innovation in Transport and Logistics Operations: a 5G approach”.
The advancement of 5G technology is poised to have a significant impact on the Transport & Logistics (T&L) sector. By leveraging the capabilities of robust 5G networks, logistics operations can be revolutionized, resulting in more resilient, competitive, and sustainable supply chains. This Special Session aims to shed light on the diverse effects of 5G connectivity on enhancing T&L operations and end-to-end processing.
Through the discussion of the 5G-LOGINNOV use case, the participants will debate why 5G, along with complementary technologies such as AI/ML, UAVs, cloud/edge computing, and Industrial IoT, serves as the driving force behind the digitisation and automation of multimodal transportation. The inherent features of 5G, including high reliability, low latency, and ubiquitous connectivity, enable real-time monitoring, remote operation, and other mission-critical services. Consequently, these technologies play a pivotal role in prioritising energy efficiency and sustainability in the Logistics supply chain. Alongside this, the presentation of the FENIX project will entail a discussion on the design and validation of the federated-model infrastructure known.
In parallel, other 5G-related projects like the 5G-Blueprint project, the VITAL-5G project, FOR-FREIGHT project will be showcased. The keywords of the session will be electronic infrastructure services, federated-model architecture, testing and many more.
