From 26 to 30 April 2021 a week-long online event organised by Connecting EU will take place. Designed to meet the needs of port and transport professionals, the various online sessions of the event will explore current industry challenges, offer high value information and connect top experts in the field. A wide range of virtual formats (e.g. talks, panel discussions, Q&A) will provide accurate and deep understanding of pivotal topics for the development of the maritime industry and its green transition.
5G-LOGINNOV is going to have a dedicated session called ‘Connectivity and beyond: how 5G ecosystem empowers the port and logistics industry’ during the event.This dedicated session will be moderated by 5G-LOGINNOV project coordinator Eusebiu Catana on April 27. The webinar will elaborate on the importance of data and connectivity. Data and connectivity have become an extremely important asset, not only to cope with traffic congestion, environmental challenges and handle upcoming and future logistics capacity but also to develop economic and innovative business opportunities for regions, industries, SMEs and high-tech start-ups.
In this frame 5G-LOGINNOV, develops a range of port-driven technological and societal innovations supported by 5G technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, next generation traffic management and CCAM (Cooperative and Connected Automated Mobility).These innovative solutions, tailored to realise objectives including automation for ports, generation of data on floating trucks and emission, automated truck platooning, video surveillance, precise positioning, predictive maintenance and real time tracking, are implemented and tested in real operating conditions in three Living Lab environments, associated with the ports of Athens, Hamburg and Koper. The webinar will provide more insights into the project its innovative solutions and the three Living Labs.
