On 22nd June 2023, the 5G-LOGINNOV project coordinator Dr Eusebiu Catana organised a technical workshop in Brussels with the objective of evaluating potential technologies for future 6G networks in cities and port cities.

The workshop aimed to provide support to ISO TC204 WG17 (sWG17.1 & sWG17.2) and ETSI Technical Committee on ITS WG in their efforts to establish cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) standards for enhancing the awareness and protection of Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs) on the roads. The occasion also served as a platform for experts to assess and discuss innovative technologies that can contribute to improving the safety and well-being of VRUs, such as pedestrians and cyclists. By exploring potential solutions and advancements in the field of cooperative ITS, the workshop aimed to facilitate the development of robust standards that address the specific needs and challenges faced by VRUs. Furthermore, this initiative also had a positive impact on the automotive and transport & logistics sectors. The workshop’s outcomes and insights supported these verticals in implementing state-of-the-art solutions that align with the latest technological advancements. By leveraging these advanced solutions, the automotive and transport & logistics industries can enhance their operations, efficiency, and safety measures.
